  • Artist profile data: Location, category, pricing, bio, instruments, education, social media links, and profile images
  • Contact information: Email and phone number provided by artists are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption and only visible to the artist themselves
  • Messages: Content of messages exchanged between users through our platform
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and technical information like browser type and IP address

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the Gigest platform
  • Display artist profiles on the map for discovery by bookers
  • Facilitate communication between musicians and bookers
  • Send email verification and important account notifications
  • Improve our service and fix issues

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on servers in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany). We use industry-standard encryption for sensitive data, including AES-256-GCM encryption for contact information and bcrypt hashing for passwords.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Your profile information (name, category, location, pricing) is publicly visible on the platform as this is essential for the marketplace to function. Contact details (email, phone) are encrypted and only visible to you.

We use the following third-party services:

  • Vercel: Hosting and content delivery
  • Neon: Database hosting (EU region)
  • Resend: Transactional email delivery

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data through your profile settings
  • Update or correct your information at any time
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Request a copy of your data by contacting us

6. Cookies

We use cookies in the following categories. Non-essential cookies are only set after you give explicit consent via our cookie banner.

  • Essential: Required for authentication and core site functionality. Cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the site. No personally identifiable data is collected without your consent.
